A nice surprise -- this was my first Whitney book, but I'll definitely be investing in more. As you might guess from the lovely vintage cover, Columbella is a gentle melodrama/gothic romance hybrid that takes place on St Thomas. There are rich people with rich people problems/5.

I thoroughly enjoyed Columbella. This is an intriguing mystery that takes the reader to the Caribbean Islands, which are so wonderfully described by the author.

Her characters are real, especially the cruel (evil) Catherine, who does a Rita Hayworth dance that could be straight from Affair in Trinidad/5(12).
